Three friends have been joining the Loom Band craze to raise money for our Save our Hospice campaign.

Melissa Hicks,10, who attends Dallas Road Primary School and her two friends Harrette Parker,9, and Annabelle Parker,10, who attend Bowerham Primary School, made various loom bands to sell to their neighbours in the Abraham Heights area of Lancaster.

The girls raised a total of £40.76 and are already planning on going to more houses nearby during the school holidays.

Karen Botham, mother of Melissa, said: “All the neighbours have been so lovely, the girls made a little price list for the loom bands, most priced at 25p each. A lot of people have put a couple of pound in the pot and I would just like thank all the residents who have supported them

“I was flabbergasted when they brought the money home, everyone has been so generous.”

The home-made loom bands varied in colour, with some containing charms and others smelling of candy and sherbet.

The Rainbow Loom, known as loom bands are small plastic rubber bands which can be made into bracelets, necklaces and even clothing.
