Children’s entertainment, collectors and craft fairs, workshops, poetry and song all form part of the Garstang Arts Festival.
Events start at 10.30am on Saturday, August 17, at Garstang Arts Centre with a craft and collectors fair, with other activities taking place in the high street and town square throughout the day.
An encore opera will then take place at the arts centre at 7.30pm.
On Sunday, from 2pm, a guided walk based on primary schools’ “Big Picture”, starts from Visit Garstang centre, with a dance display from 7pm outside Th’Owd Tithebarn, followed by the Lune Valley Jazz Band.
Events and workshops continue next week at various venues including the United Reformed Church, Clowns toyshop, Garstang library, and the arts centre.
Lancaster Male Voice Choir perform at Park Hill Road Methodist Church next Thursday at 7.30pm, and next weekend there’s a book fair at the URC next Saturday from 10am, and A Night With The Stars - including music, singing, dancing and comedy, in the evening in Cabus from 6.45pm. The festival comes to a close on Monday August 26, with a country market in the old council offices from 11am, and a Town Criers Competition followed by Children’s Fun Competition from 11.30am in Cherestanc Square.
