A 90-year-old man died ten days after sustaining what were thought to be only minor injuries in a Lancaster car crash.
Lancashire Police said Richard Thredgold passed away on Saturday (September 28) at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.
The pensioner’s Ford Fiesta was in collision with a Vauxhall Frontera at Wyresdale Road’s junction with Littlefell Lane at around 10.40am on September 18.
He was taken to hospital with injuries which, a police statement said, were not considered life-threatening at the time.
However, officers said Mr Thredgold, of Lancaster, died at the weekend as a result of those injuries.
The driver of the Frontera was unhurt.
Sergeant Malcolm Bell, of Lancashire Police, said: “The circumstances surrounding this collision are being investigated and I would urge anyone who witnessed it or has any information about it to contact police.”
Anybody with information is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
