A 60-hour marathon broadcast raised £1,500 for the hospital radio station serving the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

Presenters donned their headphones over Easter weekend, hosting programmes live on location and attracting donations for voluntarily-run Bay Trust Radio.

The station, which also broadcasts to hospitals in Kendal and Barrow, beat last year’s 50-hour marathon and featured live performances from local talent including Milnthorpe Steel Band.

Station president John Williamson kicked off proceedings on Good Friday from 9am live from outside the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

Later in the day, programmes were presented on location from Morecambe sea front and Happy Mount Park.

Other outside broadcasts came from Kendal and Bowness-on-Windermere on Saturday and Sunday.
