A WORLD record attempt of 401 marathons in 401 consecutive days and the man attempting it have passed through Lancashire Fire Station today.
Ben Smith is on marathon number 162 and the charity champion is hoping to raise £250,000 for two anti-bullying charities.
The 33-year-old from Bristol, who was bullied as a child and later suffered from depression, started in September and so far has ran 4244 miles.
Ben’s 163rd marathon began this morning at 9.30am this morning at Lancaster University. Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service were present to wave Ben off along with the university running club.
Lancaster Fire Station said it was proud to welcome the special guest as Ben stayed over at the fire station last night.
So far, Ben has raised £34,000, and is donating the money to charities Kidscape and Stonewall.
