UP to 2,000 homes in the Lancaster district could receive free insulation as part of a new scheme to help keep people warm this winter.
The £100,000 initiative is a joint project between the Lancaster District Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) – which involves 50 organisations from the public, private, voluntary, community and faith sectors – and not-for-profit sustainability organisation Tadea.
Homes will be fitted with loft and cavity wall insulation by installation company Cosyseal as part of the scheme, which is being funded by the LSP. Cosyseal will be knocking on doors across the district to give residents the opportunity to take up this offer.
Among the first areas they will be visiting are Lancaster city centre, Skerton, Ridge, Marsh, Primrose, the West End of Morecambe, Poulton and Heysham, plus rural areas of the district.
