Leading charity Action for Children is encouraging children’s centres, nurseries and groups for under-fives to host a Giant Wiggle on Thursday March 19.

The event will bring
together under-fives to
wiggle along in giant
caterpillar conga lines,
encouraging them to help others, and opening up
their imaginations through storytelling and creative activities.

Helen McKee, operational director of children services at Action for Children in the North West, said: “We want to celebrate Eric Carle’s beloved book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, by encouraging children to get active and have fun.

“By hosting a sponsored Giant Wiggle you will help us to support vulnerable children, young people and families in the heart of communities in Lancaster and across the UK.”

In March 2014, more than 32,000 children from nearly 800 schools and nurseries took part in The Giant Wiggle, raising £80,000 for Action for Children.
