A new boutique bowling alley and Italian restaurant and bar has opened in Morecambe in time for the summer holidays.
The site above Pleasureland in Morecambe has had a £1m revamp and is called Soul Bowl and Vista Italian Soul Bar and kitchen.
The site has been developed by JET Ltd, the local company that owns both Jump Rush and Pleasureland arcade.
Director Solly Reader said: “Soul Bowl is so much more than just a bowling alley, it is a social destination for everyone.
“Combining ten lanes with at-lane service and an exciting food and drinks menu, a trip to Soul Bowl is whatever adventure you want to make of it, be that a night out with friends or a trip for the family.”
As well as the ten lanes, the site also includes a relaxed bar environment, with Fussball, pool tables and an extensive cocktail and gin bar menu. Solly continued: “We’ve seen great success with boutique bowling alleys in locations such as Newcastle, Manchester and London and we’re so excited to be bringing this to Morecambe.”
The site development also includes the creation of Vista, an Italian Soul Bar and Kitchen.
Capitalising on the unrivalled view from the Morecambe coastline, the restaurant brings a contemporary Italian menu in plush surroundings.
Gavin Reader, director at JET Ltd, said:“Vista Italian Soul Kitchen is an all-inclusive restaurant and bar for multiple social occasions, be that a family meal out or drinks after work.
“The view and restaurant interior make a stunning combination and we have developed a relaxed yet authentic Italian menu to compliment the atmosphere.
“We will be offering happy hour menus and a fabulous Sunday lunch offer too, to ensure Vista has something to offer everyone.”
The development of the site has created more than 20 jobs in the region, incorporating management, kitchen, bar and waiting staff and the team at JET Ltd are looking forward to developing this as the venture grows.
The site opened to the public fully on Monday July 9, and tables can be booked on 01524 587117 for Vista and 01524 400974 for Soul Bowl bowling bookings.
Morecambe Superbowl, the town’s only bowling alley, was demolished in February to make way for an extended Aldi supermarket next to the old Frontierland site on Morecambe promenade.
