Local people with a knowledge of Langthwaite Filter House are being sought to help with a TV programme on the building’s restoration.

TV production company Tiger Aspect make the primetime Channel 4 series The Restoration Man, which is presented by the architect George Clarke.

The programme follows new owners as they restore or convert interesting historic buildings throughout the UK.

As well as offering practical advice, the presenter delves into the history of the property, why it was built and how it evolved over the years within the local community.

For the forthcoming series the show will be following the restoration of Langthwaite Filter House in Langthwaite Road, Quernmore, and the production company is hoping to film a sequence where the presenter George can go along to meet some locals who might have worked at the filter house, to hear some of their stories and have a look at some old pictures. The firm is currently trying to get in touch with as many locals as possible to piece together as much as possible on the history of the building and the area.

If you can help with historical information, stories or photographs, please contact Nicholas de Taranto at Tiger Aspect as soon as possible on 0208 222 4948, by email at or by post at Toger Aspect, Factual Department, 4th Floor, Shepherds Building Central, Charecroft Way, London, W14 0EE.
