The North West’s premier steam show – Scorton Steam 2013 – will take place on June 15 and 16 and is set to thrill visitors with more than 600 exhibitors and a line up of sizzling shows, headlined by the Big Pete Monster Truck team and their massive and thrilling smash-up displays.
There are eight categories of vehicles for the enthusiast to admire including Steam, Commercials and Custom, Military, Classic, Motorcycles, Tractors, Static Engines and Models and Crafts.
Covering a 30-acre site, Scorton Steam is the biggest steam fair in the North West and is the perfect thing to do for Father’s Day.
The rest of the family visiting the event, now in its ninth year, can expect full-on entertainment with hair raising fairground rides, close up action from the North West Lawnmower Racing Association, a flight simulator, bungee trampolines and mini quad bikes track to razz about on.
Volunteers from the North West Air Ambulance will be on hand to explain the vital work that the Air Ambulance does in the region and, as the event’s official charity, raise much-needed funds.
For smaller children, there is a Kidz Zone with an assault course of giant inflatables giving grown- ups the chance of a rest whilst little ones burn off some of their own steam.
In a much quieter corner of the site, birds of prey will be on display allowing everyone to get up close and meet owls, falcons and hawks. Visitors can enjoy artisan craft demonstrations such as leather working and wood turning.
