Rock and roll nostalgia will soon be making it’s way to the city as tribute band Queen Esque will embark on their biggest tour yet.

The Lancashire-based group will be taking their Crowning Glory Tour across the district and is fronted by an uncanny Freddie Mercury look-and-sound-alike Mark Fletcher.

Mark has toured Europe with a solo Mercury tribute show and is backed by a talented four piece live band, who are also huge fans of Queen and dedicate themselves to authentically reproducing the excitement of the real band’s legendary concerts - albeit in slightly smaller venues.

Lead guitarist Steve Miller said: “As a lifelong Queen fan it is hard to describe the euphoric feeling of getting to play these magnificent songs with a group of like-minded musicians and to have them sung and performed by someone as naturally talented as our own ‘Freddie’ is an experience in itself.

“The genuine passion for Queen that we all share definitely comes out in our own live shows, and when our audiences become a part of the show, it is truly magical!”

The band will bringing a taste of Queen to Victoria Hall, in Settle on Saturday December 5 and Ellel Village Hall, near Lancaster on Friday December 11. Tickets are £7 and are also available at www.queenesque.com/index.html, £8.50 on the door.
