The ever popular Wray Scarecrow Festival is just around the corner.
And to mark the occasion, an artist will show off an exhibition of paintings of the straw-stuffed bird-frighteners.
Sandra Moore will hold her 2015 exhibition of scarecrow pictures from Tuesday, April 21 until Saturday June 27 at Bridge House Farm, Wray.
This will be Sandra’s fifth scarecrow exhibition at Bridge House Farm.
Each year she has created new images from which she has produced a range of greeting cards which are sold at Bridge House Farm and other outlets. Sandra has been working as an artist and illustrator since completing her degree in Fine Art at St Martin’s College, Lancaster in 2007, after spending a year studying Textile and Surface Design at the University of Bolton.
She said: “Scarecrows have a charming, timeless appeal and are harmless, endearing characters.”
The Wray Scarecrow Festival starts on Saturday, April 25 until Monday, May 4, with scarecrows on display outside villagers’ houses.
“I love drawing them and I hope my pictures will make people smile. This year I am exhibiting some of my other art alongside the scarecrow pictures and prints which I hope people will enjoy.”
