Council and residents work together after Morecambe play area is vandalised

Residents on a Morecambe estate have worked together with the council to help protect a play area after it was vandalised.

After residents raised concerns about vehicles damaging the valued green space on the Branksome Estate, the Good Neighbours Group (a residents' association), ward councillor Chris Harris and council officers worked together to find a solution.

New fencing has now been installed to help protect the area, with a new gate for the play area, helping make the space safer.

"It's been a good project to work on, together with local residents to help improve neighbourhood spaces for the community to enjoy," said a Lancaster City Council spokesperson.

"Residents’ associations and Friends' groups play an important part in the work the council does to continually make improvements across the district."
