Lancaster play depicts horrors of war

A new play to mark the centenary of the First World War will be performed at the Grand Theatre in Lancaster this weekend.

Remember Them by Stuart Oakes and Susan Cowley was written especially for the 100th anniversary.

It follows a northern farmer, Bill Gibson, and examines the effects the war has on him, as he experiences its horrors.

Soon innocence has gone, death is around them and all but one pays the ultimate price.

Performances are this Friday (August 29) and Saturday (August 30) at 7.30pm, and Sunday (August 31) at 5pm.
