With so many acts, venues and hours of music to choose from, it’s almost impossible to know where to begin picking out the highlights of this week’s Lancaster Music Festival.
From Wednesday to Sunday, there will be live music to enjoy in pretty much every nook and cranny of Lancaster.
And not just in pubs and clubs. Even Lancaster Castle, restaurants like Go Burrito and Bar 1725, and Barclays Bank are getting in on the act this year.
Some of the district’s best-loved artists will be part of this marathon musical extravaganza, from The Lovely Eggs to Get Carter, from Sold to the Sky to Clever Trevor, from Molly Warburton to Three Dimensional Tanx, and from Joe McCorriston to The Convulsions...and that’s to name just a few of many.
The fun is already under way by the time you read this, as a launch party was held last night at Penny Street Bridge.
But the festival really swings into action tonight (October 9) with retro rock from Lacy Younger at the Wagon and Horses, multi-instrumentalist Heidi Happy at The Hall on China Street, Alex Hulme and Rambling Rob Young on the bill at The Sun Hotel, Marties playing blues at the Study Room and French Connection performing jazz standards at the Stonewell, and much much more.
