The Grade II-listed, six bedroom property on Hala Road, Scotforth, dates back to Georgian times and “is believed to be one of the city’s oldest homes”.
Estate agent JD Gallagher, which is marketing the property for £485,000, says: “The lintel above the main front entrance dates it all the way back to 1698 with the initials above standing for John & Elizabeth Mackerell, who ran a farm.”
The property comes complete with a detached barn at the rear. The Old Coach House was a silver jewellery workshop in recent past, but JD Gallagher says there is scope for it be transformed into “a second dwelling, office or even an artist studio”.
