Gyles Brandreth comes to Lancaster Grand Theatre
The former Conservative MP is promising an uproarious and unexpected magic carpet ride around the awesome world of words.
Gyles, who has appeared on Have I Got News For You and Countdown, will perform at the Grand on July 12 at 7.30pm.

Hide AdA writer by trade, the new show is prior to the Edinburgh festival run and audiences can expect satirical mayhem around the power of language.
Gyles explains: “The show is called WORD POWER! And it’s all about words - the power of words and the fun you can have with them.
“It’s for people who enjoy Just a Minute and Countdown and shows like QI.
“It’s one of the few shows that really keeps those little grey cells ticking.

Hide AdBrandreth, who is also a regular broadcaster on BBC’s The One Show, loves visiting the district as his family all live throughout Lancashire.
He said: “I love coming back to Lancashire.
“What tickled me this week - I saw a headline in a newspaper that made me smile: ‘missing baby found in sandwich.’”
Gyles is also known for being one of Britain’s most sought-after award ceremony hosts and after-dinner speakers.
