Great news for punk and festival fans

A PUNK rock frontman who first came to Lancaster almost 35 years ago is back in the city this month to perform a one-off show at the Yorkshire House.

TV Smith, leader of 70s punk rockers The Adverts, will be joined by Bologna’s The Valentines to play out his most well known album, Crossing The Red Sea, in its entirety, on March 20.

The Adverts played the Great Hall at Lancaster University on Monday June 27, 1977, alongside The Damned, a gig considered to be the first time that punk rock came to town.

They’ll be playing classics in their own right like Gary Gilmore’s Eyes, One Chord Wonders and Bored Teenagers.

The tour is a one-off in response to the reaction of the crowd at last year’s Rebellion Festival in Blackpool and support is a rare return to Lancaster from punk veteran Jessi Eastfield.
