Tickets are still left to hear story writers Jenn Ashworth, Richard Hirst, Tom Fletcher and Alison Moore tell their festive ghostly tales.

‘Poor Souls’ Light: Seven Curious Tales’ is an anthology of new ghost stories for Christmas, published this month by Curious Tales independent publishing collective.

To mark its publication, Lancaster Litfest in conjunction with the collective is presenting a series of atmospheric winter readings across the country.

And it will be ‘Poor Souls’ Light’ in Lancaster on Friday December 19 at the castle, starting 7pm.

Emma-Jane Unsworth, one of the story writers, will give a pre-show introduction with the performances to follow.

Book tickets in advance at www.litfest.org or at Lancaster Visitor Information Centre Monday to Saturday, 10am-4pm, in the Storey building on Meeting House Lane.
