Fun and music at village festival

Every five years the village of Hornby-with-Farleton celebrates everything that is good about village life by holding a week of events.

This year’s festival concludes this weekend with a programme of events as follows:


Flower Club Event

7pm in the Institute

A coffee evening and floral competition. An open invitation to everyone to make a floral arrangement entitled HORNBY (anything goes). Judging and prizes awarded at 8pm. Free to enter.


Jazz Night with Mike Lovell’s Six in a Bar

7.30pm at the Institute


Hornby Revue

7.30pm in the Institute £2 per person/£5 per family

An informal evening of fun, comprising a mix of short entertaining contributions performed by villagers and other local people. Stand-up comedy, humorous sketches, songs, monologues, instrumental music and it ends with a great sing-along.


Village Jacob’s Join Lunch

12.20pm—2.30pm in the Institute

A good excuse for a get together with family and friends


Songs of Praise

A choir drawn from St Margaret’s, St Mary’s and beyond will lead the singing of hymns. Refreshments will be served after the service.
