Lancaster Eats – which launched last month – has over 50 local restaurants, takeaways and cafes on its books, with more local favourites being added every week as the rise in online food ordering continues

That means it can offer everything from Friday night pulled pork pizza to a slap up Sunday roast and even grocery deliveries.

Many takeaways – like Jasmine Garden & Paradise Takeaway are on a food ordering app for the first time ever, thanks to the very reasonable commission rates from Lancaster Eats.

Others, like Go Burrito, are offering home delivery for the first time, a new service from a local favourite that has proved very popular amongst Lancaster & Morecambe residents.

The app is available to download for free on Android or Apple devices. Simply search Lancaster Eats in the app store and browse through tasty menus for many of the town’s favourite brands, including Ado’s, Sun Pizza, Fusion Peri-Peri, Nice and Spicy, the Sultan Experience, Marco’s Restaurant & loads more.

A spokesman for Lancaster Eats said: “People might wonder what’s different about our app compared to some of the national food ordering apps. What we charge the restaurants can be half that of the national brands – so it’s a saving for the restaurant and those savings can be passed on to the customer in the form of special offers and discounts.

“Plus, smaller cafes and new takeaways are no longer being priced out of the online ordering market by excessive commission charges meaning Lancaster Eats can boast many outlets that aren’t available on any other app.”

Although the app has been live for five weeks, the developers have spent two years getting it primed for market and ready to compete with its large national competitors.

Helping hand

And while lockdown has eased for most of us, a potential return is never far away, which means the service can be a lifeline when you need it.

Lancaster Eats added: “We bring you brands like Supasave for online grocery deliveries, plus we are there for restaurants who had never offered takeaway before, allowing them a fast and affordable way to join a food ordering app, and keeping them in business.

“For customers, being able to browse all the available menus and offers, then pay via the app, helps to cut down on social interaction and cash handling, which aids social distancing.”

Foodbank Friday

The company behind Lancaster Eats charges a 50p transaction fee for every order – they occasionally donate an entire day’s funds to a good cause, most recently helping local foodbanks with their donation.

The firm added: “That’s another advantage of a local brand – we’ve got the option of working with local good causes, charities, sports teams, and supporting our community.”
