Dukes cinema’s festive treats

From a Frozen Sing-a-long to classic Christmas films, Lancaster’s Dukes cinema offers all you need for a feel good festive season.

The seasonal film crackers kick off on December 13 with a screening of that most popular of festive ballets – The Nutcracker – broadcast from The Bolshoi. Tickets are priced £13/£12 concessions.

And the first of four screenings of It’s A Wonderful Life (U) takes place on December 14 as part of The Dukes A Life More Ordinary (ALMO) programme of events for people with memory problems though everyone is welcome.

Interval entertainment is also provided. Tickets priced £4 include tea or coffee and a pastry.

A more modern classic – The Muppets version of Dickens Christmas Carol (U) - hits the big screen on December 21 and 22. Join Kermit and the gang together with Michael Caine in this funny retelling of the traditional tale.

And if you’re still feeling a bit Bah Humbug, The Dukes screens yet another version of A Christmas Carol with Bill Murray as a mean TV executive who doesn’t appreciate the festive spirit in Scrooged (PG) on December 18.

The day after, on December 19, there’s a chance to let go of all those pre-Christmas panics and sing a long to Frozen(PG) at £4 a ticket – a must for all the family.

Tickets for all the festive films, except The Nutcracker, Frozen Sing-a-long and the ALMO screening are £6.50/£5.50 concessions.
