Arnie and Back to the Future in sci-fi film season

Sci-fi fans are in for a treat over the next few months as The Dukes cinema hosts a special season of films.

The Lancaster cinema is taking part in a UK-wide celebration of science fiction which will take fans on a journey to explore new worlds, seek out alien life and new technologies.

The season kicks off tomorrow, Friday, November 7, with The Terminator(15) which remains as thrilling and chilling as when it was first released 30 years ago.

Other sci-fi sensations lined up are: Invasion Of The Body Snatchers(PG) on November 11; Back To The Future(PG) on November 15; Akira(15) on November 21; Alien(18) on November 28; The Day The Earth Caught Fire(PG) on December 2 and 2001: A Space Odyssey(PG) on December 27.

These films will be screened as part of the nationwide BFI Sci- Fi Season Days of Fear and Wonder and is supported by Film Hub North West Central (NWC).

Film Hub NWC forms part of the BFI UK-wide Film Audience Network and shares the overall aim of bringing specialised film and independent film to audiences in new and exciting ways.
