FANS of folk tinged melancholy and wistful, wonderstruck song craft would do well to head to Lancaster library tomorrow night to catch the Smoke Fairies.

The Sussex based duo - Katherine Blamire and Jessica Davies - are currently on a UK tour on the back of their debut album Through Low Light And Trees, and will be supported by eccentric Californian songstress Julie Ann Baenziger AKA Sea of Bees.

Smoke Fairies have been described as romantic English folk similar to Sandy Denny, and their name allegedly alludes to the summer mist that collects in the hedgerows of Sussex’s narrow country lanes.
