These rose queens were the pick of the bunch as far as a charity fund-raising effort was concerned. For the youngsters and their attendants from several Preston churches were treated to a special seat at the National Children's Homes Family Festival. No-one was excused from a Leyland riding school's latest fund-raising scheme - even the horses and ponies joined in. Museum staff gave holiday youngsters a real dressing down in a make-believe exhibition. But the half-term photo-show at Preston's Harris Museum was all in good fun as the children donned costumes brought in by staff for the activities week. The dress-up and play around was organised by education officer Catherine Hall to bring a photo to life
