A shampoo and toiletries firm has taken an £800,000 step into the future. Universal Products, which also makes cough medicines and pharmaceuticals, has opened a new laboratory and office complex on its factory site in Boundary Road, Lytham. An entertainment course set up by Morecambe man Peter Hosker proved so successful that college bosses want to run another. The 10-day course, spread over 10 weeks, taught students the tricks of the entertainment trade. And many of the students, most whom were unemployed, have now found jobs in the business.
