Top dancers from across Europe - along with some homegrown talent - were in Southport for a major dance festival. The Southport Easter Dance Festival was considered to be one of the most prestigious festivals in the UK. More than 800 amateur and professional dancers took part in the four-day event at the Floral Hall on the Promenade. The new operators of a Morecambe tourism attraction are hoping for a swimmingly good first season. Bubbles, the resort's indoor/outdoor water fun park, has had a trouble history since opening in the 1980s. Where did you get that hat? An Easter parade of beautiful bonnets was the order of the day at an Over 60s club in Morecambe. Fifteen people from the Westgate Club took part in the competition, held for the second time.
