Sandy said: “Anyone who knows me will know how much I love my food! This goal of losing 26 pounds will be a real challenge for me and one I am committed to.

“Due to Covid-19 many of the fundraising events had to be cancelled along with the cafe and shops shutting temporarily, which generate a lot of the hospice’s income.

"Yet myself and my fellow nurses are still here supporting our local community 24/7 on the in-patient ward and in the community with our team and Hospice at Home during this time.

I couldn’t just sit and watch my favourite charity struggle because I know first-hand about the amazing care we deliver locally – I had to do something. Taking on this challenge to lose weight will benefit the hospice and I know my patients and friends will be encouraging me all the way!”
