"We thought this would be fitting as the Covid-19 pandemic has caused many job losses and many people’s morale is at an all-time low," Luke said.

"Therefore in an effort to raise morale we are trying to raise as much awareness for this cause as possible.

"The rate of suicide in 2019 in the UK hit a 19 year high. With every week, 125 people tragically take their own lives. 74% of these suicides are men.

"Men’s mental health helplines have revealed that Covid-19 has increased the amount of calls and emails tremendously, with 2020 being predicted to be the worst year for suicides since the 1980s, widely because of the Covid-19 crisis.

"This is why we as a group have decided to walk Snowdon on October 10 for charity.

"We will be donating all money raised to the charity CALM, who are leading a movement against suicide.

"We are a group of lads aged between 19 and 23. We as a group have had our own fair share of mental troubles. This is a cause close to our hearts and we believe we need to give something back.

"This climb will be a real physical challenge to some of the members of the group. We believe we are trying to replicate the uphill mental battle that some young men go through in their head, every time they open their eyes."
