Over 90 COVID-19 related deaths recorded in Lancashire in one week

A total of 1,821 people have now died in hospital in Lancashire after contracting Covid-19.

The latest figures from NHS England show 94 COVID-19 deaths have been recorded in Lancashire from Monday, December 7 to Monday, December 14.

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust recorded 13 fatalities, East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust recorded 37, Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust recorded 23 and University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust recorded 21.

The statistics include patients who died in hospital - but not other places, such as care homes.
