Number of deaths from Covid-19 across Morecambe Bay hospitals passes 300

More than 300 people have now died from coronavirus in Morecambe Bay hospitals.

Six deaths were recorded by NHS England today, Friday, bringing the total number of people to have died this month to 82.

This means that since the pandemic began, the total number of deaths after testing positive for coronavirus within the last 28 days at hospitals run by University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust now stands at 301, with the numbers roughly split between the Royal Lancaster Infirmary and Furness General Hospital in Barrow.

These figures do not include deaths outside hospital, such as those in care homes.
