Morecambe Bay Academy pupils sent home after positive Covid-19 result

A group of Year 9 students have been sent home from Morecambe Bay Academy after a fellow pupil tested positive for coronavirus.

Members of the office team are also in isolation after a colleague was found to have Covid-19.

Principal Vicki Michael said on Monday morning: "Over the weekend, a member of the office staff has tested positive for coronavirus and is isolating at home.

"Other members of the office team are self-isolating as a precaution.

"In addition, a student in Year 9 has also received a positive test after a week of isolating at home because they felt unwell.

"A small group of students, who have been in close contact with this student, have been sent home today and their parents contacted directly.

"The school is open as usual, and all the published guidance is being followed. "
