• Support for businesses, including the availability of grants for eligible firms

• Updates on key council services, including waste collection

“The council’s officers are working around the clock and have rightly been praised for their exemplary work in what continue to be very difficult circumstances. The same is true of public sector workers, the business community and partners in the voluntary, community and faith sector; there are so many unsung heroes working behind the scenes to help us all weather this crisis.

“We have made a lot of information available on our website, social media channels and the media, but we want to ensure the message, and the support that’s in place, reaches the widest possible audience.

“That’s why we’ve written to every household, to ensure all our communities know about the support mechanisms that will help them through this public health emergency.”

A copy of the letter has also been placed on the council’s website and is available on its coronavirus webpage: Lancaster.gov.uk/coronavirus.
