Vulnerable children and children of key workers in those year groups who have been in school since January 5 have been identified as a 'close contact' of those with the virus.

In a message to parents and guardians on Sunday, headteacher Jo Banks said: "As you may all be aware we have had a number of positive cases in school that have affected a significant number of year groups.

"This obviously means we have high staff illness and therefore may struggle to be responsive on the remote learning on a day to day basis.

"Please bear with us in these challenging times. We will keep the children updated through Showbie. Thank you for your understanding, stay safe everyone."
