The government has asked pre-schools to remain open throughout lockdown for all children, recognising the vital work that they do for children and families.

And at St Thomas Pre-school, one of the ways they have helped is by providing a ‘well-being box’ with individually wrapped treats for mums and dads to take when they drop their children off.

The treats include face packs, hand cream, chocolates, lip balm, bath bombs and scented candles. Each one also comes with a ‘mindfulness card’ to encourage parents to take five minutes' ‘me time’ when they can.

Pre-school manager Jessica Fitton said ‘This is a difficult time for all our families, with many parents feeling overwhelmed and pressured.

"We really want to prioritise relationships and connection at this time, and to let our parents know the value and importance of what they do for their children.

"The well-being box is just one way for us to let parents know that they are valued and cared for by our team at preschool.

"The well-being box has been much appreciated by our parents so far!"
