Jon and Nicky Cannon and their son Chris, have a workshop based on White Lund in Morecambe where they make luxury mattresses of all types and sizes which are sold from their showroom at Dockray Hall in Kendal.

Feathers and Springs started last year and trade has been strong so the family have made the decision to bring their younger son, Ben Cannon, into the firm to run the new showroom in Chapel Street.

Company director Chris said: “We are proud to be a local manufacturer and employer and to provide local jobs as our business grows.

“We think that we make the best beds that money can buy and it seems that our customers agree with us! Both our domestic and commercial sales are growing strongly and we look forward to opening the new Lancaster showroom so that more people can find out about us.”

The company makes mattresses by hand that are inspected at each stage of the production process and in many cases they are hand stitched. Their workshop now employs a team of thirteen including apprentices who are being trained in all aspects of bed and mattress making.
