One county firm is helping to market one of those uses – in hi-tech training shoes.Graphene, like graphite, diamond and coal, is a form of carbon, but it is many times stronger than steel, yet incredibly lightweight and flexible. The Cumbrian firm Inov-8 has worked with the University of Manchester to release a range of trainers using it in the rubber to improve durability. And to help with the launch, it has called in Lancaster e-commerce firm Nublue to get them out of the starting blocks as quickly as possible.Nublue implemented an international countdown – giving users across the globe a geo-specific countdown that auto redirected to the G Series landing page upon it’s midnight release.Nublue’s designers created a dedicated landing page and product pages for the three G Series shoes, with category pages to follow as the roll out of their ground-breaking Graphene range continues.Nublue’s Megan O’Todd, account manager said: “It’s been really exciting working with an internationally recognised brand such as inov-8. The whole team is passionate and 100 per cent behind the brand – we have felt like we are a real extension of their own internal team. Helping inov-8 to evolve with this ground-breaking step is fantastic.”Head of Ecommerce for Inov-8, Melanie McKay said: “The objective was to create a unique online space to showcase this truly innovative line of shoes, and it’s great to see this coming to life in the run up to the July 12 retail launch.”Inov-8 first joined forces with Nublue early last year to help evolve their online store strategically. They were looking for an agency who could become an extension of their own team and develop a long-term relationship.
