The King Street premises, which opened in 2011, will close on December 10 as part of a 'small number' of closures company-wide.

The company said that a 'small number' of hotels will be closed across the country or transferred to other operators, and confirmed the Lancaster branch would be among these.

They said: "Following the completion of a company voluntary arrangement earlier this year, the company has retained a network of more than 500 hotels across the UK.

"However, a small number of hotels will be closed or transferred to other operators. Where this is to occur, we will be in contact with customers to advise them of their options, which will include a refund or a transfer of their booking to an alternative hotel.

"We apologise for any inconvenience to any customers that are affected by these changes."
