Lisa picked up Silver in the Best New Business category at the Best Businesswomen Awards 2026, a day after being named a finalist in two categories at the Female Business Awards.

The Best Businesswomen Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of women in business across the UK, from sole traders to large companies.

Now in their 12th year, they are among the longest-running awards of their kind, with gold and silver winners chosen across a wide range of categories.

Lisa fought off tough competition from hundreds of entrants to win Silver in her category.

Winners are selected by an expert judging panel, with entrants required to back up their achievements with supporting evidence.

Debbie Gilbert, founder and organiser of the Best Businesswomen Awards, said: “Behind every winning business is a woman on a mission who has taken risks, solved problems and worked hard to make her vision a reality.

“These awards recognise what those women have achieved and receiving an award is a significant endorsement of the business each winner has built.”

Lisa’s business, Sell More Stuff, teaches one-woman business owners across the UK how to turn emails into income.

She has built it with no team, working around 20 hours a week, and teaches her clients to build the same kind of small, steady business around the rest of their lives.

At the Female Business Awards the evening before, Lisa was a finalist in both the New Business and Sales and Marketing categories.

Hazel Woodward-Foley, co-founder of the Female Business Awards, said: “This year’s finalists represent the very best of female-led business - women who have shown extraordinary passion, energy and commitment in building something of their own.”

Lisa said: “I’m delighted to be recognised three times in one week, especially as my business is less than two years old. With four children, I run it from my home in Lancaster during school hours, and I don’t use social media at all. Email is the quiet workhorse of any small business.

“When you write emails people actually want to read, they buy from you, and you don’t need to be big or loud to make that work.”

Looking ahead, Lisa plans to share her approach with more women through podcast interviews and speaking on stage, helping them build simple businesses that make sales more easily. She will also sponsor next year’s Female Business Awards. Find out more at www.Lisa-York.com
