Frankie and Benny's restaurant in Morecambe has closed down with the loss of 20 jobs.

According to The Restaurant Group who own Frankie and Benny's, the restaurant closed down during lockdown and unfortunately will not be reopening.

A spokesman for The Restaurant Group said: "Around 20 job roles have been affected. I’m afraid it has permanently closed down. It closed down during lockdown and unfortunately won’t be reopening.

"The casual dining sector has faced enormous, well documented pressures which have been exacerbated by Covid-19 and the lockdown.

"Unfortunately, we have had to take difficult but necessary decisions to ensure a sustainable future for our business.

"We have been in close contact with affected colleagues throughout this process and we are doing all we can to support them during this time.”
