Stanleys community centre in Morecambe wins lottery funding

This funding will enable Stanleys to continue working with the local community, providing a range of services from youth and sport teams to delivering food to people across the community thanks to the amazing volunteers and staff.

Centre Manager Robyn Thomas said: “I am thrilled that we have been given funds from the Big Lottery Covid 19 response fund , this will enable us to deliver and develop our services in the local community and will ensure that we can meet local needs. We know how tough the pandemic has been and out community has been especially affected. We have seen a huge increase in demand for our food delivery and health and wellbeing support.

"Stanleys are currently working on plans to expand our provision as we continue to work with partners and local people to ensure that we can support the residents of the West End in the long term. We have exciting plans going forward."

Trustee of Stanleys Adrian Lewis said: “This is brilliant news, and I am really excited for the future of Stanleys community centre . I have seen at first hand the great work the staff and volunteers do, and this funding is a welcome boost and ensures we can continue to serve local people especially as we recover from the pandemic."

Stanleys Community Centre is working within the guideline which is currently in force and continues to engage with individuals in the West End of Morecambe.
