Lancaster and Morecambe sports stores to close due to Covid-19 pandemic

A sports chain is to close its outlets in Lancaster and Morecambe as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

DW Sports Morecambe posted on their Facebook page that they were to open from today, Monday June 15, for six weeks only.

They are having a 40 per cent off sale on all items in the store.

The Lancaster store in North Road and the Morecambe premises in Central Drive will then shut their doors for good.

However, DW gyms are safe, with only the stores to close next month.

They said: "Sadly we will be closing our doors in our Morecambe and Lancaster branches for good (retail shops only, not including the DW gyms).

"Unfortunately it is with deep regret we did not survive the coronavirus pandemic.

"You can come and shop safely as all coronavirus measurements have been put in place...social distancing measures, hand sanitiser stations and PPE.

"So please come visit us and say goodbye and grab yourselves some amazing bargains.

"We will miss you all, stay strong, stay safe."
