A village pub is looking forward to a new look in the new year.

The Royal at Bolton-le-Sands will be closing its doors on January 6 for a refurbishment, with a reopening date on January 17.

The pub shared on Facebook: “In four weeks time, we’ll be closing our doors while an army of local tradesmen descend and begin transforming The Royal into our next chapter. Nothing good stands still for too long!

"When we relaunch, we’ll still be the same great team and the same delicious food, but with a fresh identity. We can’t wait!”

The pub is also on the look out for new staff to boost its bar and waiting team.

They have a space for a full-time member of staff and a couple of part-timers for evening and weekend work.

“Experience is great but we’re more than happy to consider raw recruits too!” they said.
