A pensioner from Lancaster who assaulted a man at a hotel in Scarborough has been sentenced at court.

Colin Stanfield, 78, of Graham Street, Lancaster pleaded guilty to assaulting a man at the Grand Hotel, Scarborough on July 27 when he appeared at Lancaster Magistrates’ Court on November 2.

He was given a conditional discharge for six months.

He was also ordered to pay £50 compensation and a victim surcharge of £26.
