That was one of the more dramatic jobs Lancashire’s Road Police team have had in the past seven days, with others involving drunk and drug-drivers, cars without insurance, tax or MOT, and even one driver who was so tired he couldn’t drive in a straight line.

5. No number plate
This VW was stopped in Preston for no front or rear number plates
On further inspection, officers found three of the four tyres were illegal, because of no tread and cords exposed.
A prohibition order was placed on the vehicle and it was recovered due to the risk of driving in a dangerous condition. The driver was reported for the offences. Photo: Lancs Police
6. Audi A6
This Audi A6 was seized by police after it was seen "causing a nuisance" in Barbara Castle Way, Blackburn. The driver had previously been warned over inconsiderate driving. Photo: Lancs Police
7. 120mph and abandoned
This BMW was pursued on the southbound A6 from J33 at speeds in excess of 120mph.
Police lost sight of the vehicle but it was spotted soon after by the force's dogs team, abandoned in Garstang.

8. Drink driving
A member of the public reported this car being driven erratically in the Preston area.
Police patrols located the vehicle, but it failed to stop. It was eventually 'stung' in Golden Way, Penwortham.
