A full scale production of a musical thriller is being brought to the stage by Lancaster University Theatre Group next week.

Stephen Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, tells the tale of a man hell bent on revenge.

It is widely considered a “masterpiece” and his greatest work.

After being imprisoned on a trumped up charge by a jealous and corrupt Judge, Benjamin Barker - now Sweeney Todd - returns to London, and vows revenge on the man who stole his daughter and ruined his life.

As the body count rises, Mrs Lovett is on hand with a gruesome and tasty idea of what to do with those who get in Sweeney’s way...

This version of Sweeney Todd takes to the stage in the Nuffield Theatre at Lancaster University on December 6, 7, and 8.

Tickets are available from the Live at LICA box office, priced £9/8/7 on 01524 594151 Email: boxoffice@liveatlica.org.
