Plenty to do at Heysham Nature Reserve

This summer Heysham Nature Reserve hosts a variety of wildlife events that will explore how bugs fly, show you how to hunt for mammals and spend time out in the woods twiggling twigs and creating your own den.

Nature Tuesdays continue to run with Lancashire Wildlife Trust and EDF Energy and the Power Station Visitor Centre staff, with weekly sessions starting with ‘Pootling by Ponds’ and exploring the world of bees, bugs, butterflies and beetles.

Their programme of events continues to provide lots for the local community to enjoy.

“The reserve is an amazing place for all the family to enjoy,” said Emma Garston, Community Project Officer.

“It is on the doorstep of Heysham and Morecambe, small enough for the youngest visitor to walk around, but full of wildlife and interest.”
