The Lovely Eggs

An April Fool joke by a Lancaster band hoodwinked plenty of their fans.

The Lovely Eggs claimed to have been asked to perform on Jools Holland, and were surprised at the response.

They said: “Apparently the idea of us getting all boogie woogie on the television isn’t as ridiculous and unlikely as what we thought people would think. Either that or we have the most blindingly loyal and deluded fans in the universe. We love you. April Fool...”

The duo’s new album This is Our Nowhere comes out on special edition vinyl on Saturday, April 18, for Record Store Day.

They’ll then be in session on Marc Riley’s Radio 6 Music show – where their new single Magic Onion been receiving strong airplay – on Tuesday night, April 21, before heading out on a 12 date UK tour taking in Bristol, Cardiff, Leeds, Birmingham, Brighton and Newcastle.
