A Scorton musician has been busy translating his new album into a “dark and haunting” theatre show, with plans to take it on tour.
Jay Diggins, who released his debut album Searching last year, has been working to convert his music into an atmospheric stage show, the beginnings of which will be performed at Lancaster Grand Theatre on January 25 as part of a variety show.
Jay said: “Eventually the idea is to perform a theatrical set that is dark and haunting.
“The theatrical license goes as far as having microphone stands made from withered trees as if in a wood, tape echoed harmonica gives a particular dark sound, earthy didgeridoo, tremolo bass and my rare Vox church type organ – the only one in existence – is also in the set. Also there’ll be video clips to accompany the music to help convey visually the darker side of winter. I’m hoping it will be a bit special.”
