Lancaster’s Grand Theatre will host the launch of a Scorton musician’s debut album next weekend.
Jay Diggins said it was a real honour to have his album – Searching – mastered by John Dent, who is also responsible for polishing off Bob Marley’s huge single Is This Love while working for Island Records.
The launch will feature tracks from the album, which has been produced by John Parish (The Eels, PJ Harvey), and performed in the most part by lead singer and guitarist Jay Diggins. Parish also plays guitar on some of the tracks.
Lancaster band Greenheart, who join Jay for live shows, also feature on the album for the track Where Can I Find You. Greenheart, who release their own EP at the gig, provide support on the night alongside Sungiant.
Searching, which comes out on Jay’s own Wyrebank Records, will be on sale at the gig on Friday September 20, and from then on via iTunes and from the online shop at www.jaydiggins.com.
The Grand gig is the first stop on a tour which will see the Jay Diggins band perform in Brighton, York and Carlisle, then on to France and Germany before, all being well, they jet off to America to perform at Webster Hall in New York in January.
Tickets for the show are £7 available from The Grand’s Box Office on 01524 64695. The show starts at8pm.
